2008 Bergstrom Old Stones Chardonnay

Product Description
Willamette Valley, Oregon
Bergstrom Old Stones Chardonnay is an outstanding white wine gem from the Pacific Northwest. Portland Monthly Magazine recently listed this wine as the 2nd best value wine for Oregon! "One of the best chardonnays ever made in Oregon, this is truly a top value. Quite long, intense pear flavors, with a judicious use of oak barrels." We fully agree!
Winemaker Josh Bergstrom has managed the family's estate vineyards since returning from Burgundy in 1999. His wines are excellent examples of old world philosophy blended with new world techniques and attention to detail. Josh carefully tempers technology with a strong respect for a balanced ecosystem and sustainable agriculture.
Bergstrom Old Stones Chardonnay is an opulent blend of the best barrels of Chardonnay from their six Chardonnay estate vineyards. Each vineyard is harvested separately, vinified separately and aged separately until the blending process begins one year later. Each vineyard ferments in new oak, older oak and stainless steel to ensure balance. Only 700 cases were produced.
Bergstrom Old Stones Chardonnay is amber-gold in color with a nose of pears, apples and vanilla. It is full-bodied with nice acidity and a long, rich finish. Enjoy over the next 5-6 years with grilled salmon, roast chicken, shellfish and artisan cheeses.
