2004 Beronia Rioja Reserva

Beronia Rioja Reserva is a Spanish red wine gem from Gonzalez Byass that shows off the depth and complexity of the 2004 vintage for Rioja, Spain’s most famous wine region. Bodegas Beronia is situated in the Rioja Alta surrounded by 30 hectares of vineyards. For this 2004 vintage, winemaker Matias Callejo blended 90% Tempranillo with 6% Mazuelo and 4% Graciano grapes. The wine received a 90-point rating from Josh Raynolds for International Wine Cellar.

Beronia Rioja Reserva is intense garnet in color with beautiful aromas and flavors of black cherry, cranberry, red currant, cinnamon, vanilla and toasty oak. Medium-full in body with velvety tannins and moderate acidity, the wine is smooth and elegant on the palate. It was aged a minimum of 18 months in casks of American and French oak, then bottled and stored in cellar for 18 months before release. Well balanced to enjoy now and over the next 7-8 years, it is long and elegant on the finish.
