2012 Bila-Haut Cotes du Roussillon Villages
Bila-Haut Cotes du Roussillon Villages is a red wine gem from the Roussillon region of southwest France. Renowned Rhone producer Michel Chapoutier created this new wine venture, Les Vignes de Bila-Haut, in the Roussillon, the sunniest wine region of France. The vineyards are located on the slopes of the high Agly Valley. The soil is composed of gneiss and schist from the Devonian Period. The grapes were harvested by hand. Robert Parker gave the 2010 vintage of this wine an astounding score of 92-94 points and Wine Spectator picked it for its Top 100 for 2012. The new 2012 has just arrived, and it already received 89 points from Parker. Donít miss it!
Bila-Haut Cotes du Roussillon Villages is a red blend of Syrah, Grenache and Carignan. It is deep garnet red in color with a beautiful nose of black cherry, plums, black currants, pepper and garrigue. Full-bodied with lean tannins, it offers intense flavors of cassis, kirsch and spice. Well balanced to enjoy over the next 3-4 years, it is rich with lingering fruit on the finish.
Enjoy Bila-Haut Cotes du Roussillon Villages as an ideal accompaniment to lamb chops, steak, truffle omelette and ripe cheeses.
