Product Description

Rias Baixas, Spain

Dom Bardo Albarino is a delightful white wine gem that is the perfect accompaniment to seafood. This wine comes from the Rias Baixas region of Galicia in the northwest of Spain, where the vineyards are surrounded by pine and eucalyptus forests and the ruins of ancient Celtic fortresses. Agrupacion des Cosecheiros Albarino do Salnes, founded in 1975, is located in Sisan in the province of Pontevedra. The wine is 100% Albarino from 35-year-old vines in the estate’s 30 hectares of vineyards. It is estate-bottled and received a rating of 89 points from Josh Raynolds for Stephen Tanzer. We find Albarino is Spain's answer to the Viognier grape of Condrieu fame.

Dom Bardo Albarino is amber in color with an aromatic nose of honeysuckle, peach, pear, honey and mineral notes. Medium in body with crisp acidity, it offers flavors of peach, apricot, lemon, honeysuckle and orange, with no oak. It is beautifully balanced to enjoy in its youth, over the next 2-3 years. With excellent balance and a rich, silky texture, this wine coats the palate on the finish with long-lasting flavors.

Enjoy Dom Bardo Albarino with poached salmon, grilled chicken, shellfish and spicy Asian dishes.
