2007 Faltognano Chianti
Product Description
Tuscany, Italy
Faltognano Chianti is a red wine gem from the medieval village of Vinci, the hometown of Leonardo da Vinci, who wrote, “Much happiness comes to men who have the fortune to be born where wine is good.” The winery, Fattoria di Faltognano, sits high up on the slopes of Monte Albano between Florence and Pisa, looking over the Arno River valley. The owner is Roberto Bardzky Comparini, whose family has owned this 180-hectare estate since 1000 AD. This Chianti Montalbano is 90% Sangiovese with 5% Canaiolo and 5% Malvasia Nera, all harvested by hand.
Faltognano Chianti is soft garnet in color. It is medium in body with a nose of cherries, violets, spice and tobacco. The wine offers flavors of berries, cherries and spice. It is nicely balanced to enjoy now and over the next 4-5 years. This well-made Chianti is long and silky smooth on the finish.
Enjoy Faltognano Chianti with lasagna, veal Milanese, burgers and Parmigiano cheese.
