2007 Guigal Cotes du Rhone Red
SORRY--THIS VINTAGE IS SOLD OUT!
Guigal Cotes du Rhone is a beautiful red wine gem from the southern Rhone of France just rated 90 points by Robert Parker! This blend of 50% Syrah, 40% Grenache and 10% Mourvedre comes from the superb 2007 vintage in the southern Rhone and Robert Parker calls it the finest Cotes du Rhone Guigal has ever made. While E. Guigal is famous for making wines from its own vineyards in the northern Rhone, this producer also loves the southern Rhone and has a gift for crafting magnificent wines even when buying all the fruit, as this wine demonstrates.
Guigal Cotes du Rhone is deep ruby/purple in color with an enticing nose of jammy black raspberry, cherry, cassis, pepper and floral notes. Medium-full in body with moderate tannins, it is silky smooth and well balanced to enjoy over the next 4-5 years. This red is rich and lingering on the finish.
Enjoy Guigal Cotes du Rhone with roast leg of lamb, skirt steak, grilled burgers and ratatouille.
