La Meridiana Vitis Barbera d’Asti is a beautiful expression of the Barbera grape from region of Asti in Piedmont. Tenuta La Meridiana traces its history with the Bianco family back to the 19th century. The family’s 3 cru vineyards stretch over the Monferrato hills a few kilometers from Asti. Their passion at La Meridiana is making excellent wines from the Barbera grape. Vitis is 100% Barbera from all 3 single vineyards planted on clay-limestone soils. 50% of the wine spent 6 months in third-year oak barrels; the balance in steel tanks.
La Meridiana Vitis Barbera d’Asti is ruby red in color with tones of purple. It has a delicate nose of red fruits, cherries and violets. Medium-full in body with good acidity and soft tannins, it offers intense flavors of raspberries, cherries, vanilla and spice. This food-friendly red will drink well for 5-7 years. It is long, ripe and rich on the finish.
