2008 Le Clos Chartier Sancerre

Product Description
Loire, France
Le Clos Chartier Sancerre is a white wine gem from the Loire Valley of France made of 100% Sauvignon Blanc. It is a beautiful example of the appellation, showing minerality and restrained fruit, making it an ideal food-friendly white wine. The wine was estate-bottled in the northern part of the Sancerre appellation by owners/winemakers Jerome & Frederique Gueneau. Their 17-acre vineyard on soil of clay and flint lies 3 miles north of the village of Sury-en-Vaux in the Sancerre wine region.
Le Clos Chartier Sancerre is a pale yellow in color with crisp acidity. It is medium in body with an aromatic nose of tropical fruits, spice and mineral notes. Dry with no tannins and no oak, it offers clean flavors of grapefruit, lime, honey, spice, minerals and herbal notes. The wine was aged on its lees in stainless steel vats for greater fullness. It is clean and refreshing with good length on the finish.
Enjoy Le Clos Chartier Sancerre over the next 3-4 years with grilled salmon, fried oysters, sushi, chicken salad and goat cheese.
