2010 Moris Morellino di Scansano

Moris Morellino di Scansano is a beautiful Tuscan red wine from the Maremma region. Morisfarms is the Tuscan estate of the Parentini family, which comprises an impressive 420 hectares under vine, with the vast majority of vineyards lying within the Morellino di Scansano subzone of the rugged Maremma region in southwestern Tuscany. Morellino di Scansano, which is often known as “Baby Brunello” is one of the great, undiscovered wine-producing regions of Tuscany. This blend of 90% Sangiovese, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Syrah received a 90-point rating from Wine Advocate. According to Robert Parker, "Morisfarms is a great source for well-priced offerings from Tuscany's Maremma. Consulting oenologist Attilio Pagli doesn't miss a beat here, as these are all terrific wines." We definitely find this one a true wine gem!

Moris Morellino di Scansano has a brilliant ruby red color and an intensely fruity bouquet of wild red berries, plums, spices and violets, with a wonderful freshness and harmony on the palate. The wine was aged 4 months without spending any time in wood, and bottle-aged further for 2 months. It is nicely balanced to enjoy now or to cellar for 5-6 years. The finish is rich, long and polished.
