2007 Roger Lassarat Saint-Veran Prestige

Product Description
Burgundy, France
Roger Lassarat Saint-Veran Prestige is a beautiful expression of Chardonnay from this appellation in the Maconnais region of Burgundy. Coming from a family of Vergisson winemakers in the Mâcon region, Roger Lassarat ventured out on his own in 1969 with 3 hectares of vineyards. Vergisson is a small, typically Mâcon village, planted between the Vergisson rocks and Solutré, 10 km west of Mâcon. The Roger Lassarat domain has gradually increased in size and now includes 8.5 hectares. This winery is biodynamic, committed to sustainable organic farming and a close interaction with the vineyards. Roger has sought to develop pure wines that reflect the different terroirs of the region. We find this Saint-Veran does just that, which makes it a wine gem!
Roger Lassarat Saint-Veran Prestige is made from old vines in the chalky soils of Saint-Veran. The wine has flavors of apples, citrus, mineral notes and subtle oak. It is soft yellow-gold in color with a nose of apples, citrus and mineral notes. Full-bodied with crisp acidity, it is ready to be enjoyed now and over the next 5-6 years. The wine has nice length and complexity on the finish.
Enjoy Roger Lassarat Saint-Veran Prestige with steamed lobster, roast chicken, grilled swordfish, Cobb salad and cheeses.
