Sawbuck Chardonnay is now in its fifth vintage from John & Lane Giguiere, founders of R.H. Phillips. After selling the company to Vincor International in 2000, the couple started Crew Wine Company in 2005, with Sawbuck as one of its four new wine brands. Sawbuck wines are made from grapes grown in the northern edge of the California wine country: Mendocino and Yolo Counties. Both are unique growing regions that are left of center of the mainstream, offering wines of great quality at a value price. True gems! The new company's vision is simple: "Produce wines we love to drink at prices we don't mind paying."

Robert Parker called this wine a "spectacular bargain" and gave it a rating of 88 points!

Sawbuck Chardonnay has aromas of crisp green apple and spice. Hints of vanilla toast and butter stay consistent with the flavors. It is medium-full in body with bright acidity and nice balance. This Chardonnay is crisp in the palate with lingering flavors of honey and lemon.
