2004 Sly Dog Cabernet Sauvignon

Product Description
Red Hills, Lake County, California
Sly Dog Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon is a new red wine gem from the world-class Beckstoffer "Red Hills Vineyard" in the Red Hills district of Lake County, California. The official name of this first-release Cab is Sly Dog Cellars Bin 4499, crafted in small batches and meticulously blended by winemaker Chris Markell. The name "Sly Dog" came about when a beloved but sneaky dog made off with a steak just off the grill while the winery's principals, Richard, Dan & Jeff, discussed their vineyards. Keep an eye on your plate when you enjoy this Cab!
Sly Dog Cabernet Sauvignon is deep garnet red in color with a beautiful nose of dried raspberry, rose petal and wild cherry. It is full in body with moderate acidity and complex layers of red raspberry, black currant, anise, vanilla and cracked white pepper. Nicely integrated oak enhances the flavor profile. Beautifully balanced, it offers a long, smooth finish.
Enjoy Sly Dog Cabernet Sauvignon over the next 5-6 years with steak, burgers, rack of lamb, BBQ pork and sharp cheeses.
