2006 Tenimenti Angelini Tuttobene Rosso

Tuttobene Toscana Rosso is a nice red blend of Merlot, Sangiovese and Canaiolo from the highly-acclaimed Tuscan winery Tenimenti Angelini. The winery is a Tre Bicchieri winner producing wines in the 3 major regions of Tuscany: Chianti (San Leonino), Montalcino (Val di Suga) and Montepulciano (Tenuta TreRose). Tuttobene (meaning "all is going well" in Italian) comes from vineyards on the San Leonino estate in the town of Castellina, in the southern part of the Chianti Classico region. This food-friendly red from winemaker Mario Calzolari captures the essence of Tuscany in a very enjoyable wine gem.

Angelini Tuttobene Rosso is brick red in color with medium body, soft tannins and smooth acidity. It combines the structure of Sangiovese with the roundness of Merlot in a nicely balanced blend. The nose and palate show red currant, raspberries, ripe plums and soft herbal notes. The wine is long and pleasing on the finish.
