2006 Wagtail Chardonnay

Wagtail Chardonnay is a new white wine gem from Down Under named for the Willie Wagtail, one of the best known and most loved birds of Australia. The Yarra Valley wine region is renowned for producing wines of delicacy with intensity and length of flavor.

Wagtail Chardonnay is golden straw in color, medium-full in body with an attractive bouquet of peach, melon and lemon sorbet. The palate shows generous peach and citrus flavors with a touch of vanillin oak and a clean, lingering finish. Roughly 25% of the wine was aged for 12 months in one-year-old French and American oak. The early 2006 vintage produced fruit with outstanding flavor and intensity.
