Vinum Vita Est Barolo is a beautiful expression of the Nebbiolo grape from Terre del Barolo in an extraordinary vintage for Barolo. The "Terre del Barolo" winery is located in the valley running between Alba and Barolo. The cooperative brings together around four hundred growers, who own approximately 650 hectares of the great vineyards of the Langhe. 

Aromas of juniper, violet, lavender, kirsch and iron mark this solid, densely built red. Shows a core of sweet, ripe fruit, but the structure is showing today as this winds down on the long, licorice, tar and underbrush finish. Aged 38 months, including at least 18 in wood. 

“A floral nose with dried leaves and earth, as well as sweet wild strawberries. Full-bodied with persistent fruit and a nicely formed tannin structure. Quite firm for now, but this should mellow out in a year or two and gain added complexity.”—James Suckling 92 points!
