  • Lassarat Saint-Veran Prestige 2022

    Lassarat Saint-Veran Prestige 2022

    Burgundy, France

Lassarat Saint-Veran Prestige is a beautiful white wine gem from Burgundy, showing off the natural beauty of the Chardonnay grape. The Lassarat estate is a family estate located in Vergisson, a village in Burgundy, at the gateway to Beaujolais, surrounded by the 2 famous rocks: La Roche de Vergisson and La Roche de Solutré. The estate produces 80,000 bottles per year, spread over 4 different appellations. Practicing sustainable viticulture.

Lassarat Saint-Veran Prestige is a judicious blend of 5 plots of vines averaging 55-60 years of age. The aging is 70% in new barrels and 30% in thermo-regulated vats for ten months, then blended and bottled without filtration. The careful blending of old Chardonnay vines, all planted in soils marked by limestone, gives birth to a harmonious wine. The finely mineral notes, balanced on a delicately woody touch, underline the refined elegance of the wine.

  • Sella & Mosca Torbato Brut 2020

Sella & Mosca Torbato Brut 2020

Alghero Torbato Spumante DOC, Sardegna, Italy

Sella & Mosca Torbato Brut is a beautiful dry sparkling wine of 100% Torbato from Sardinia. A jewel in the Mediterranean, Sardinia is a rustic and enchantingly beautiful island with extreme geography and vinous diversity to tempt travelers and wine enthusiasts alike. Mr. Sella and Mr. Mosca fell in love with this land over a century ago and established Sella & Mosca, one of Italy's most renowned wine estates. As Sardinia's foremost wine producer, Sella & Mosca’s premium wines are made exclusively from estate-grown grapes. In addition to native varieties such as Vermentino, Torbato and Cannonau, the winery has successfully pioneered the introduction of international grape varieties, notably Cabernet Sauvignon.

A rare and precious varietal, rediscovered and rehabilitated by Sella & Mosca over years and years, Torbato grows best in calcareous soil originating from ancient marine sedimentation. The straw yellow color is bright and shining, while the aromas range vivaciously from acacia blossoms and pink grapefruit to autolytic and bready notes. A trail of iodine reverberates within a savory, fresh and balsamic palate with a creamy yet dry and vertical start. The aromatic nuances continue on, drawn by the acidity into an interminable finish.

This dry, refreshing sparkling wine is perfect with seafood dishes, grilled chicken, and Mediterranean fare, or to celebrate a special occasion!

  • Georges Lignier Morey-Saint-Denis Blanc 2018

    Georges Lignier Morey-Saint-Denis Blanc 2018

    Burgundy, France

Tim Atkin 90 points! Jancis Robinson 16.5

Georges Lignier Morey-Saint-Denis Blanc is a beautiful white wine gem from the Cote de Nuits, showing off the natural beauty of the Chardonnay grape. The domaine is led by Benoit Stehly, nephew of Georges Lignier, who worked at the domaine for a decade alongside his uncle, before assuming control of the work in both the vineyard and the cellar in 2008. His approach is very traditional, as he seeks to achieve maximum aromatic concentration, above nearly all other characteristics, including structural or color concentration. When it comes to the vineyard holdings, the depth of appellations in both the Premier and Grand Crus is astounding. Overall, the domaine counts sixteen hectares encompassing 50 parcels, across 17 appellations in both white and red.

Benoit planted 0.15 hectares worth of Chardonnay in the Morey-Saint-Denis vineyards Clos Solon and Les Seuvrees between 2007 and 2011 in order to be able to produce an additional white wine. Fermented and aged entirely in barrels but with none new, it displays the broad-shouldered character and rich body typical of the seldom-encountered white wines of the Côte de Nuits, with notes of ripe apple and almond, and admirable concentration.

Enjoy Georges Lignier Morey-Saint-Denis Blanc with steamers, grilled sausages, roast chicken, grilled halibut, lobster salad and cheeses—chèvre, Beaufort, Comté and Emmental.

  • Jean-Marc Pillot Chassagne-Montrachet Mes Vieilles Vignes 2012

    Jean-Marc Pillot Chassagne-Montrachet Mes Vieilles Vignes 2012

    Burgundy, France

Jean-Marc Pillot is the fourth generation of his branch of the Pillot family to tend vineyards in Chassagne Montrachet. He joined his father, Jean, in 1985 to learn the craft of “vigneron”. After six years of working side-by-side, Jean-Marc assumed the direction of the domaine in 1991 with the assistance of his wife, Nadine, and his sister, Beatrice.

Jean-Marc produces a remarkable red Chassagne-Montrachet from just over a hectare of Pinot Noir vines planted in 1960, and this old-vine cuvée is noteworthy in its complexity—particularly for a villages-level wine. Exceptionally structured, it nonetheless offers a purity of fruit, plus a gently earthy, brambly edge which speaks clearly of its Chassagne origin ... a village that should be more recognized for the high quality of its red wines, this being a prime example. 100% whole-cluster.

  • Timbal Sweet Red Vermouth 500ml

    Timbal Sweet Red Vermouth 500ml

    Vermut de Reus, Catalunya, Spain

This well rounded and wormwood-forward sweet red vermouth has earned great admiration. Its easy style is ideal for the Catalan tradition of the ‘vermouth hour’, enjoying a glass on the rocks with olives. Timbal Sweet Red also marries beautifully with rye or bourbon, revealing notes of baking spices. The town of Reus (near to Tarragona in Catalonia) is the historic epicenter for vermouth production in Spain, where for over a century the producer Miró has set the benchmark for its wormwood-forward style.

For the Catalan tradition of the ‘hora del vermut’, Timbal Sweet Red is served over ice with two olives and an orange slice in the glass, and usually accompanied by bowls of olives and potato chips. That’s right: a wine traditionally served with potato chips! Add tonic and lemon peel for a spicier take. With whiskey, Timbal’s spice notes are very welcome, and this vermouth adds weight and texture without the distraction of vanilla. Pair with high-toned whiskeys, such as Wild Turkey.

    Monterey, California

Wine Spectator 89 points! Wine Enthusiast 89 points!

Vinum Cellars Chardonnay Monterey is a beautiful wine of 100% Chardonnay from Monterey. Vinum Cellars was founded in 1997 by first-generation California family winemakers Richard Bruno and Chris Condos in the Napa Valley, financing their dream on credit cards. Vinum Cellars Chardonnay Monterey was made from grapes grown at the Arroyo Loma Vineyard in King City within Monterey by famed Central Coast grower Steve McIntyre. The wine gained DOC status in 1983 and is currently only produced by Botromagno, which has had great success with this wine in multiple export markets. From the 2013 vintage onward, the vineyards that produce Botromagno's Gravina DOP wines are certified organic.

In 1991, the D’Agostino family merged with the local cooperative winery, creating Botromagno, the first successful example of a privately owned winery partnered with more than 100 local grape growers. The D’Agostino family has been able to foster a reliable and efficient synergy with the local farmers; based on strict standards for quality grape growing, they have rapidly become one of the finest wineries in Puglia.

Botromagno Gravina is brilliant lemon-green in color with medium body. Playful aromas of green apples and pears are underscored by notes of white peaches and apricots. On the palate, tangy acidity unfolds into a long, harmonious finish.

Enjoy Botromagno Gravina over the next 4-6 years with oysters, calamari, sashimi, Asian citrus salads, and grilled seafood.

  • Tsikrikonis Assyrtiko Asvestaria 2022

    Tsikrikonis Assyrtiko Asvestaria 2022

    Pangeon PGI, Macedonia, Greece

Tsikrikonis Assyrtiko Asvestaria is the quintessential summertime Greek white wine from a single vineyard in Macedonia. Under Mount Symbolos at an altitude of 350 meters and just 3 kilometers from the Aegean Sea, lies the Tsikrikoni family vineyard. The vineyard named ASVESTARIA (LIMESTONE) took its name from the soil that is nothing but pure limestone. Historically the location was used for the extraction of limestone for the production of plaster for construction use. In 2006 the first vine stocks of Assyrtiko were planted and a mult-tiered vineyard was formed. The combination of the sea breeze during the day, the mountain wind during the night, and the subsoil compose a special microclimate ideally suited for Assyrtiko.

Tsikrikonis Assyrtiko Asvestaria is a soft lemon in color with a pure nose of lemon blossoms, spices and herbs, citrus and some white-fleshed fruit. This crisp, dry white has nice acidity, medium body, and minerality. It was aged for 6 months on the lees in stainless steel tanks. Long and pleasant on the finish--mineral, lemony and spicy, with some green fruit.

Enjoy Tsikrikonis Assyrtiko over the next 8-10 years as a refreshing aperitif wine and to accompany grilled snapper with fruit salsa, grilled octopus, roasted chicken and summer salads.

  • Luigi Oddero Convento Vino Rosso

    Luigi Oddero Convento Vino Rosso

    Piedmont, Italy

Luigi Oddero Convento Vino Rosso is a beautiful red blend of the key grape varietals of Piedmont. Given their staggering 35 hectares worth of Nebbiolo di Barolo, the estate has historically sold off a portion of its production in bulk, reserving the best-exposed sites in the best spots for its Barolo "Tradizionale.” Under the guidance of their new cellarmaster Francesco Verzio (ex- of Bruno Giacosa) they decided to instead bottle a "second wine"--mostly from east- and southeast-facing parcels in La Morra and augmented by some east-facing vines across the border in Barolo, to the south of the Annunziata cru toward Cannubi. They named it “Convento”--a nod to the fact that the Tenuta Para estate (the foundation of Luigi Oddero's winery) was the site of a convent in the early 17th century. This Vino Rosso bottling also bears the name Convento.

Convento Vino Rosso is a blend of Dolcetto, with some Barbera—and a touch of Nebbiolo for structure—from vineyards around the cellar at Santa Maria. Varietals are naturally fermented in stainless steel, assembled and matured for 6 months or so in cement (with the Nebbiolo component in cask) with spontaneous malo, and then assembled in the late Spring after harvest for bottling. Light and crunchy with violet-y berry fruit that speaks of its Dolcetto majority, yet with decent grip and structure.

Enjoy Luigi Oddero Convento Vino Rosso with osso buco, lasagna, veal chops and aged cheeses.

  • Bitouzet-Prieur Bourgogne Rouge 2021

    Bitouzet-Prieur Bourgogne Rouge 2021

    Burgundy, France

Bitouzet-Prieur Bourgogne Rouge is a beautiful red Burgundy from this vineyard in the Cotes de Beaune region of Burgundy. Bitouzet owns 0.5 hectares of Pinot Noir in this vineyard (incorporated into neighboring Le Ronceret since 2006) which sits just below En Champans on the slope; half was planted in 1948, and the other half in 1998. A committed classicist, Vincent Bitouzet has provided the esteemed US importer Neal Rosenthal with over thirty years-worth of structured, demanding, age-worthy, satisfying wines, both red and white, from the heart of the Cote de Beaune. Based in Volnay and blessed with extensive holdings in Meursault as well, this domaine is a tried and true standard bearer for all that is fundamentally good and sound in Burgundy: conscientious and sensitive work in the vineyards, respect above all for the specific character of each lieu-dit, patience and attention to detail in the cellar, and a commitment to producing wines of depth and, of critical importance, longevity. To truly understand great white and red burgundy, one must wait for these grand expressions of terroir to mature to reveal their splendor and spectacular nuance.—Importer Neal Rosenthal

Vincent and Francois Bitouzet rigorously tend their vineyards, practicing organic viticulture that includes practices such as “sexual confusion” to reduce insect infestations, the use of organic compost when necessary, no herbicides or pesticides and severe limitations on the use of copper sulfate. Harvest is done manually. Classic Burgundian vinification is practiced at this traditional domaine. Only indigenous yeasts are used.

Bitouzet’s formidable Bourgogne Rouge comes from a hectare’s worth of Pinot Noir planted between 1963 and 1970 in the lieu-dit Petit Près, situated just below the villages-level Volnay vineyard Les Pasquiers near the Meursault border. Aged entirely in used barrels for 12 months, it leads with fruit—small-berried, finely etched fruit—but possesses ample minerality and a notable sense of refinement for its level.

Enjoy Bitouzet-Prieur Bourgogne Rouge with roast pork, grilled salmon, ratatouille and aged cheeses.

  • Henri Prudhon Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Rouges-Gorges 2016

    Henri Prudhon Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Rouges-Gorges 2016

    Burgundy, France

Domaine Henri Prudhon Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Rouges-Gorges is a beautiful red wine gem from the Cote de Beaune, showing off the natural beauty of the Pinot Noir grape. The domaine was established by Henri Prudhon who was born and raised as a vigneron in the village of Saint Aubin since his birth in 1921. He and his wife, Marguerite, combined forces upon their marriage in 1945, putting their small vineyard holdings together to form the Domaine Henri Prudhon. Monsieur Prudhon was a force in his village, serving for many years as the mayor of this lovely hamlet set just to the west of Puligny and Chassagne along Route Nationale 6.

The domain encompasses 14.5 hectares of vineyards and produces on the order of 90,000 bottles of wine annually, eighty-five percent of which is exported outside of France. The vineyards are managed with the objective of intervening as little as possible in the natural vegetative cycle. Farming is Lutte Raisonnée.

Prudhon Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Rouges-Gorges is produced from two separate parcels: one on a hillside above the hamlet of Gamay and the other from a parcel between Saint Aubin and Chassagne Montrachet. The average age of the vines is 50 years. A classic wine of this sector with compelling notes of animal and wild berries. The élevage is about 18 months before bottling; again, very little new oak is used.

Enjoy Henri Prudhon Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Rouges-Gorges with grilled sausages, roast pork, rich vegetarian dishes, and cheeses—chèvre, Beaufort, Comté and Emmental.

  • Fulvia Tombolini Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore 2019

Fulvia Tombolini Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore 2019

    Marche, Italy

Fulvia Tombolini Verdicchio dei Castelli dei Jesi Classico Superiore is a white wine gem from the Marche region of central Italy. For 100 years the Tombolini family has represented the winemaking tradition of an entire region: with a great past and a keen eye towards the future.

“We’re among the founders of two of the most important DOCs of the Marche region: Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi and Rosso Conero. Our history is one of quality and innovation: we were among the first to promote the Castelli di Jesi terroir, to use the iconic amphora shaped bottle (1950s), to make wine from 100% Verdicchio grapes in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats (1970s). Today we produce wine exclusively from our vineyards in harmony with the environment, our craftsmanship matched by the most advanced winemaking techniques.”—Fulvia Tombolini

Amongst our oldest and historical vineyards there is a “secret” plot of land, which generates this Verdicchio Superiore. Ample temperature variations before the vintage and a constant ventilation from the wind blowing from the Adriatic sea, reaching our vineyards at 400 m a.s.l., triggers the expression of unique aromas and preserving the natural crispness of this Verdicchio Superiore. It is aged in steel, sur-lies, for about 6 months and in bottle for an additional 2 months. Straw yellow with light golden reflections. The clean aroma is intense and hints at white flowers, herbs, yellow apples and orchard fruits. Full-bodied and well balanced with a long, refreshing finish.

Enjoy Tombolini Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi as a refreshing summer aperitif wine and with grilled chicken, filet of sole, pastas and salads.

  • Plozza 085 Rosso di Valtellina 2013

Plozza 085 Rosso di Valtellina 2013

    Lombardy, Italy

Plozza 085 Rosso di Valtellina is a wonderful red of 100% Nebbiolo from the Valtellina region of Lombardy. Plozza traces its roots to 1919, when in Brusio, Switzerland, a few kilometers from Tirano, Italy, the 29-year-old Pietro Plozza quit his job in the Rhaetian Railway and decided to throw himself into the commerce of agricultural products, immediately realizing the potential of Valtellina wine.

Accessible, fruity and elegant, Plozza 085 Rosso di Valtellina is a limited edition Nebbiolo wine whose name comes from the 10,000-liter chestnut cask in which it has matured for 48 months and that characterizes the label design - a thin wood foil lending a regal appearance to the bottle.

Fresh and harmonious, this wine amazes for the floral tones’ gentle lightness and for the exciting aromatic and gustatory approach. On the palate it is rich and smooth.

Plozza 085 Rosso di Valtellina evokes hints of cherries, dried prunes and elderberries and presents a softly voluptuous tannic background. This nectar, resulting from the heroic Valtellina vine growing, one of the hardest and most challenging in the world, perfectly complements red meat, a roast with plum sauce, any homemade meal, and is also an ideal wine to casually sip with good friends.

  • Guglielmo Levi Grappa Stravecchia 2018 700ml

Guglielmo Levi Grappa Stravecchia 2018 700ml

    Valle d’Aosta, Italy

By the late 1800s, a “grapat” (grappa maker) named Guglielmo Levi arrived in the small town of Aosta. In this corner of Italy surrounded by nature and Europe’s highest peaks, Guglielmo founded his distillery, starting a history meant to last over time.

Being a skilled grapat, Guglielmo began to produce his grappa in the heart of the town of Aosta, in the so-called “Borgo di Sant’Orso”. The work of the master distiller fascinated those who did not know it because it seemed surrounded by a magic halo. Indeed, this art had the power to transform nature and involved an extremely fascinating process. Over the years, the production kept growing and Natalina – Guglielmo’s daughter – together with her husband Cesare Rosset, decided to move the company headquarters to Quart, a village on the outskirts of Aosta. Still today our spirits are produced in Quart, in the Distillerie Levi, thanks to a traditional “bain-marie” discontinuous alembic, which is powered by renewable sources.

Our past tells who we are and shapes our identity. The new Grappa Stravecchia is a tribute to our legacy and reinterprets the historical Grappa “Guglielmo Levi”. It is obtained from the precious fermented pomace of local grapes, and it is then aged more than 24 months in oak, acacia, and cherry barrels.

  • Domaine La Manarine Chateauneuf-du-Pape 2019

    Domaine La Manarine Chateauneuf-du-Pape 2019

    Rhone, France

Domaine la Manarine Chateauneuf-du-Pape Pied de Baud is a beautiful example of this complex red wine from the Rhone. Named for the village just north of Avignon, Chateauneuf-du-Pape (new castle of the Pope) is the place where Pope John XXII first built a summer residence and planted vineyards back in the 14th century.  Domaine la Manarine was created by Gilles Gasq in April 2001. The winery and majority of his vineyards are located within the commune of Travaillan, on a splendid plateau northeast of Orange in the southern Rhone. Gilles is a talented vigneron who has honed his skills working as an assistant to Paul Jeune, the proprietor of Domaine Monpertuis in Chateauneuf-du-Pape. Domaine La Manarine practices organic viticulture. Work in the cellar is minimal with little intervention.

Comprised of 100% Grenache with an average age of 45 years, from adjacent parcels totaling 1.5 hectare. While they are nestled side by side, the two parcels are distinctly different: “Pied de Baud” has a sandy based soil, while “Cabrières” is stonier, riddled with the large galet stones for which Châteauneuf-du-Pape is known. Situated in the northern reaches of the appellation, these two sites are much cooler than the rest of the appellation, making a wine that is fresher and considerably less tannic. The grapes for this wine are partially destemmed (about 50%) and are fermented in stainless steel tanks for one month and aged in a combination of stainless steel and large oak barrels for 18 months before being assembled and bottled.

Enjoy La Manarine Chateauneuf-du-Pape Pied de Baud over the next 12-15 years with daube Provencal (slow-cooked beef), roast chicken, grilled mushrooms, pastas, and cheeses.

  • Cardamaro Vino Amaro

    Cardamaro Vino Amaro

    Piedmont, Italy

    • Enjoy as an aperitif or digestif
    • Pair with salty cheeses, nuts and charcuterie
    • Primarily flavored with cardoon and blessed thistle
    • Substitute for whiskey in low-ABV cocktails; great with cider
    • Use as an amber vermouth with whiskey or apple brandy
    • Product of an 8th-generation winemaker in Canelli d’Asti, Italy

Cardamaro comes from an Italian family producing wine and amaro since 1820 in Canelli, in the very heart of Piemonte. Today, principals Giovanni Bosca and Mariacristina Castelletta, along with their sons Giulio and Guglielmo, helm the company. Ancestor Rachele Torlasco Bosca, a scholar and herbalist, created Cardamaro Vino Amaro in the 1950s after she became fascinated with the physiological properties of the locally grown cardoon. Over the following years, Bosca’s herbalists perfected the recipe, incorporating 23 additional botanicals on a base of local wine.

Cardamaro is a longstanding product of what is today an 8th-generation winemaker in Canelli d’Asti. The primary flavors of Cardamaro are cardoon and blessed thistle, with gentle undertones of spice. The wine base provides a pleasing texture and allows for pairing with robust cheeses, soft or hard. Mix Cardamaro with cider or ginger ale, or use in place of vermouth for an earthier take on classic cocktails. Cardamaro can also be used in place of whiskey for subtle cocktails, such as with Dolin Rouge in the Lower Manhattan.

  • Cappelletti Amaro Sfumato Rabarbaro

    Trentino, Italy

    • Unusual marriage of smokiness and bitter woodsiness
    • Made from alpine herbs and the root of Chinese rhubarb
    • Pairs beautifully with grapefruit Radler or stout
    • Lends depth and character to whiskey cocktails
    • Venerable producer of aperitivi and amari in Alto Adige

The producer, which goes by the full name Antica Erboristeria Cappelletti, was first established in 1906. For most of their first century they were located in the historic Piazza Fiera in the center of Trento. Today they are located 20 km south of Trento in Aldeno, surrounded by vineyards and apple orchards. As the name would suggest, the firm was and is still today focused on products from traditional herbs, roots and flowers. They achieved fame in the region for their productions of amari and aperitivi, including the classic red bitter Aperitivo Cappelletti. All production is done in house by the fourth generation of the family, Luigi and Maddalena Cappelletti.

The term Sfumato derives from the Italian word for smoke - ‘fumo’. It is traditionally associated with a style of Renaissance painting characterized by subtle transitions between areas of dark and light. This speaks directly to this amaro’s profile, which marries a dark smokiness with bitter woodsiness from alpine herbs and notes of sweet alpine berries. The main ingredient is a special Rabarbaro (rhubarb) variety that grows in Trentino Alto Adige and Veneto. Enjoy with tonic, grapefruit soda, or whiskey.

The production of a Rabarbaro liqueur by the amari and aperitivi producer Cappelletti dates back almost a century.

  • Basil Hayden's Bourbon 1L

    Basil Hayden's Bourbon 1L

    Kentucky

Charred oak and sweet notes of vanilla & caramel with hints of dried fruit.

Crafted in 1992 by Booker Noe as part of the Small Batch collection, Basil Hayden introduced a more subtle side of bourbon compared to its counterparts. This style of bourbon was inspired by 1792 whiskey pioneer Meredith Basil Hayden, Sr., a rye farmer from Maryland who moved to Kentucky and began distilling. He chose to distill his bourbon with a higher percentage of rye, and Booker set out to create a similar high-rye mash bill that would offer the same refined, approachable taste profile. Today, this bourbon stands as a tribute to Meredith Basil Hayden, Sr.’s high-rye mash bill ingenuity, as well as to Booker Noe, a true innovator who sought to welcome new drinkers into whiskey.

Felsina Chianti Classico Riserva Berardenga is a gorgeous wine from this famous appellation of Tuscany. Fattoria di Felsina has long been one of the great names in Tuscany. Based in the Chianti Classico region, Felsina produces one of the finest ranges of ageworthy and complex Chianti bottlings. “A solidly built red introduced by aromas of mint, lavender and wild rosemary. Shows cherry, raspberry, earth, iron, sanguine and tobacco flavors allied to an almost viscous texture as this cruises to the long finish. Impressive now, yet will be better in three to five years. Best from 2026 through 2045.” —B.S.-Wine Spectator, 94 points, Top 100 #22!

“In a bottle with a black label, the Fèlsina 2020 Chianti Classico Riserva Berardenga shows an open-knit quality with soft fruit flavors of dark cherry and baked plum. Those fruit flavors are followed by pretty mineral notes and light spice. That openness and those sweet cherry flavors are characteristic of the warm 2020 growing season. The wine finishes with bright acidity that is typical of Sangiovese. Drink 2024-2032.”—Monica Larner, Wine Advocate, 93 points!
