M. Dean Chardonnay from California is a terrific value in California Chardonnay—made by the former winemaker of Joel Gott! Founder Michael Dean has developed a great reputation as a wine importer for over 35 years. Known for bringing impeccable wines to wine lovers across the country, now he brings you M. Dean, a California name you can trust to deliver similarly high-quality wines with exceptional value. Michael recruited the renowned winemaker Alisa “AJ” Jacobson, to help make his vision a reality. As a UC Davis graduate respected for her craft, AJ was making wines for 19 years at Joel Gott Wines, before teaming up with Michael to create M. Dean. 

The 2021 vintage featured an early bud break with steady warm conditions up till harvest, translating to consistent ripening on the vine. The vintage yielded excellent fruit quality with good flavor concentration and a notably vibrant acidity. The Chardonnay was pressed to tank, settled, and racked where it began fermentation. One third of the wine underwent malolactic fermentation. The wine finished fermenting in French oak barrels (25% new) and aged for 10 months to create a rounded character on the palate. 

M. Dean Chardonnay is bright and buttery with a touch of oak. Notes of pear and crisp apple with a mouthwatering finish. Pairs well with fish, pasta, poultry, and veggies.
