Impostino Ciarlone Montecucco Rosso DOP is a beautiful red wine gem from this subregion of Tuscany. The Montecucco DOC appellation, where the Tenuta l'Impostino is located, is in the southern part of Tuscany, in the high Maremma, in a natural and wild environment. Since the Middle Ages, on the routes that led from the Maremma to the inner part of Tuscany, the “Imposti” have always symbolized for the travellers and traders a place of rest and refreshment, a place where they could change their horses and enjoy a hot meal and a glass of wine. Tenuta l’Impostino was named for one of those inns, located exactly on the ancient road that connected Siena to Grosseto. Organic and 100% Biodynamic.

Impostino Montecucco Rosso Riserva is a red blend of 80% Sangiovese, 10% Syrah, 5% Merlot, and 5% Petit Verdot. The wine was aged on its lees for 12 months in 42HL barrels and cement, then 6 months in bottle. It is succulent, with the texture and lively structure driving the rich flavors of plum, eucalyptus, tobacco and earth. It is warm, soft, full-bodied, with a remarkable balance. Rich and intense on the palate, with well structured tannins balanced with its pleasing softness and its youthful freshness. It is very long and satisfying on the finish.
