Holden Manz Chenin Blanc is a beautiful rendition of Chenin Blanc from the Coastal Region of the Western Cape of South Africa. Named after owners Gerard Holden and Migo Mans, this Franschhoek property was originally developed into a wine farm in 1999. Located in the top, southern-most corner of the Franschhoek Valley, in the embrace of its spectacular mountains, the 22 hectares Holden Manz Wine Estate is situated between the Franschhoek River and Stony Brook at 300 meters above sea level. Today it is a lifestyle destination, boasting five-star guest house and spa, restaurant, picnics by the Franschhoek river, with an art collection housed in the town.

Holden Manz Chenin Blanc comes from hand-selected bunches from three excellent vineyards in the Stellenbosch/Paarl border area and from the Paardeberg. 100% from bush vines over 40 years old. Harvested during February 2022. Berries cooled to 5oC prior to “Champagne” crush cycle. The clarified juice is transferred by gravity to barrels and tanks for fermentation. Wild yeast fermentation with 20% vinified and matured in a mix of new and second-fill French oak barrels. All the wine was stirred continually on the fine lees.

An elegant lightly perfumed example of Chenin Blanc with symphonic notes of jasmine, apple blossom and a whiff of peach. Medium bodied with well-balanced refreshing acidity. Expect the senses to find quince, lemon with lingering flavors of summer melon and persimmon. Hints of oak with characters of fresh brioche. Great long finish.
