Ramsay Cabernet Sauvignon from California is always a great value in Cabernet, and this vintage is outstanding! Ramsay is the second label of Kent Rasmussen, named for his wife, Celia Ramsay.

Kent Rasmussen truly believes that the North Coast has the perfect terroir for growing Cabernet Sauvignon. He spent years searching the appellation for “really nice vineyards farmed by really engaged farmers who value quality above all else.” At this point he’s very satisfied with the consistency and quality his selected plots produce year after year. Most of the fruit comes from Sonoma, but there are a couple vineyard lots from Napa Valley, and Lake County as well. This vintage is a blend of 93% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Merlot, and 3% Petite Sirah.

Ramsay Cabernet Sauvignon is full-bodied and offers cassis and dark stone fruits layered with notes of cocoa, minerals and spice. While powerful and concentrated, there’s ample acidity and tannin to balance the intensity of fruit.
