Daou Chardonnay is a beautiful wine of 100% Chardonnay from Paso Robles. Proprietor/Winemaker Daniel Daou has made it his life’s mission to create world class wines from his Daou Mountain vineyards in Paso Robles. “I can vividly remember the first moment I laid eyes on this mountain, because I had already seen it in my mind,” he says. “I had been searching for a terroir exactly like this—the soil, elevation, the slopes, the elevation. And now here I was looking at it, and I knew immediately that this was it. My purpose is to create a pure expression of this terroir-to allow this Mountain to speak through the wines that come from it.”

“The 2022 Chardonnay Estate underwent full malolactic conversion and matured for 11 months in 100% new oak. It has youthful but classy new oak aromas of toast, vanilla and spice over a core of yellow apple, quince and honeyed tones. The medium-bodied palate is luxuriously satiny, concentrated and ripe, its nuanced fruit enlivened by surprisingly fresh acidity. It has a touch of old-school, tropical malolactic character, yet streaks of matchstick keep it tethered to the ground. Lovely! Drink 2025-2035.”—Erin Brooks, Wine Advocate 94 points!
