Chateau Marjosse Bordeaux is a beautiful red wine gem from Pierre Lurton from vineyards on his own property in Entre-Deux-Mers. Pierre is also Director of Château Cheval Blanc and d’Yquem for LVMH! Lisa Perrotti-Brown, MW, of The Wine Independent wrote a recent article on Pierre Lurton and Chateau Marjosse and gave glowing reviews to its current releases: “The flagship Marjosse and Marjosse Blanc—particularly the 2019 and 2020—are unbelievably great value for money. Apart from the outstanding quality, they evoke a story of this exceptional place and the person with the vision to recognize and nurture what many may have passed by or ripped out. “Marjosse is my secret garden,” says Pierre Lurton. “It gives me energy. It is important for me to have this place and share it.” This 2020 red Chateau Marjosse is made of a blend of Merlot (80%), Cabernet Franc (10%), Cabernet Sauvignon (6%) and Malbec (4%).

“Medium garnet-purple in color, the 2020 Marjosse Rouge needs a little coaxing to reveal notes of cast-iron pan, crushed rocks, and dusty soil over a core of red plums, blackberry preserves, and mulberries, plus a hint of bay leaves. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is tightly knit with fine-grained tannins and bold freshness supporting the nuanced black and red fruits, finishing long and minerally.”—Lisa Perrotti-Brown, The Wine Independent 94 points!

“Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2020 Marjosse comes barreling out of the glass with rambunctious scents of cassis, crushed blackberries and black plum preserves, followed by hints of dark chocolate, anise and tar, plus a fragrant waft of lavender. The medium-bodied palate is soft, juicy and wonderfully refreshing, delivering wonderful poise and expression with a fun burst of pure black fruit on the finish. Delicious!”—Wine Advocate 91-93 points!
