Andrea Mufatto and Gerardo Michelini started their Mendoza winery in 2019 alongside their son Manuel Michelini. The Michelini family is not short of terroirs to explore in their native Argentina, and brothers Gerardo, Matias, and Juan Pablo continue to amaze with the amount and quality of the projects they get involved with in South America. Now the family has gone a step further and taken its craft and vision to Spain, where they have set a firm foot in Bierzo, as well as Rioja. Motorpsico is a brand new organic wine from Bierzo that just landed in the US market. It’s made from Mencia grapes from the A Merced vineyard, where 30% of the grapes are white. 

“A new red produced with grapes from the village of San Lorenzo, the 2022 Motorpsico comes from plots from the zone of A Merced that have 30% white grapes. It's produced following the way the wine was produced in the village of Toral de los Vados, adding must without skins to produce a lighter red. The wine then matured in used 225-liter French oak barrels for one year. It's pale, perfumed, fruit-driven and light, with 12.5% alcohol, a medium-bodied palate and very fine, almost unnoticeable tannins. It is perfumed and delicious. 10,000 bottles produced.
