Description
Crete, Greece
Ampelourgein Rodalos is a beautiful natural Greek rosé wine of the indigenous varietal Liatiko. The Ampelourgein winery was created by Nikos Papadakis in 1997. It is located in the village Schinokapsala of Lasithi on Crete and produces natural wines with minimal additives from local Cretan grape varieties. The vineyards are scattered in the mountains of Lasithi without intensive farming at an altitude of 850-1150 meters, far away from atmospheric pollution. Wild and hard but also a blessed place away from phylloxera.
Ampelourgein Rodalos is dry rose wine from the Liatiko varietal grown at 950 meters altitude
in the mountains of Schinokapsala. A wine that beautifully expresses the old roots of liatiko, with floral aromas from the seasonal flowers that flood the vineyard. A unique taste that overruns the
mouth with notes of dried fruits and herbs from the microclimate of Schinokapsala. From minimal intervention during winemaking and with 7-12 hours of extraction is born a wine with
pleasant and delicate tannins and the ideal acidity to balance its alcohol. The wine has a pleasant tartness that gives it a long finish. Ferments in stainless steel tanks at low temperature and rests on the lees for 2-5 months.
Enjoy Ampelourgein Rodalos as a refreshing aperitif wine and with grilled snapper with fruit salsa, grilled octopus, roasted chicken and summer salads.
