(40% carignane and 38% mourvedre, with zinfandel, palomino, alicante and mission, from vines that were planted in the 1890s): Opaque ruby. Floral aromas of black raspberry and cherry pit, with complicating spicecake and mineral nuances. Round and fleshy on entry, then more energetic in the mid-palate, offering vibrant red and dark berry flavors with no rough edges. This seamless, sweet blend finishes with excellent vivacity and terrific length.
