California
Bleecker Chardonnay, after 6 years as a non-vintage hit, graduated to vintage status with the 2015 vintage. Sadly, this 2023 vintage may mark the end of an era. If so, it’s been a great run!
Bleecker Chardonnay is sourced from vineyards located in Lodi that are sustainably farmed and planted in alluvial soils along the river. These dense soils offer excellent water retention which promotes green growth to bring fruit to optimal ripeness. The juice was fermented with indigenous yeast to dryness. Malolactic fermentation was long and cool, also using indigenous flora. Aged for 15 months in French oak with a small percentage being new.
Bleecker Chardonnay is light, straw yellow with a nose of bright, citrus fruits and orange blossom. Its flavor profile is nervy and vibrant--full of lemon, underripe tropical fruits and a fresh mineral-driven finish.
Enjoy Bleecker California Chardonnay over the next 3-4 years with roast chicken, grilled swordfish, steamers, Cobb salad and cheese.
