Cantine Iorio Sannio Aglianico is a rich red wine from Campania, in the southwest of Italy, the region of Naples. Cantine Iorio is located in Torrecuso, at the slopes of Mount Taburno, calcareous massif known as “La dormiento del Sannio’ [the Sleeper] because, observing this group of mountains from a certain distance, it looks like a reclining woman who is sleeping. Here long stretches of vineyards create a picturesque natural park that, thanks to its territorial structure and particular weather conditions, allows the production of high-quality wines. For 4 generations the Iorio family has made wine and in 2013 they opened a new cellar to make expressive wines focusing on Falanghina and Aglianico, the two varietals that do best in the Sannio.

Cantine Iorio Sannio Aglianico is 100% Aglianico from soils of limestone and clay grown at an elevation of 250-350 meters. The wine is deep, dark red in color with full body and silky tannins. It shows an intense fragrance of red fruits with spices scents. Elegant tannins are blended with a balanced acidity and full body, offering a long, pleasing finish.

Cantine Iorio Sannio Aglianico will drink well now and over the next 6-8 years. Ideal with grilled steaks and red meats, rich pasta dishes, moussaka, and aged cheeses.
