Basilicata, Italy
D’Angelo Aglianico del Vulture is a rich red wine from Basilicata, in the south of Italy, bordering Puglia, Campania, and Calabria. The vineyards are in Barile, at 400 meters above sea level, with 35-year-old vines in volcanic soils.
D’Angelo Aglianico del Vulture is intense ruby red in color, turning to garnet as it ages. With full body and silky tannins, the wine shows a bouquet of red fruits with spices scents. Harvested by hand and aged 18 months in large oak barrels, it offers a long, pleasing finish.
D'Angelo Aglianico del Vulture will drink well now and over the next 6-8 years. Ideal with grilled steaks and red meats, rich pasta dishes, moussaka, and aged cheeses.
