Pays du Gard IGP, Languedoc-Roussillon, France
Domaine du Vistre Niveole Rosé is a delicious dry rosé from the Gard. Located in the southern end of the Gard department in the center of a triangle formed by the cities of Nimes, Montpellier (Hérault) and Arles (Bouches du Rhône), Vauvert is strategically located at the heart of the Petite Camargue. Domaine du Vistre, the estate of Remy Dupret, has been making wine for 6 generations in the south of France and the total property is 60 hectares. Remy uses an organic method to treat his vines. Instead of copper, he uses a spray made from local orange peels to protect against mildew and insects, and this keeps him from using herbicides & pesticides.
Domaine du Vistre Niveole Rosé is 70% Syrah and 30% Cabernet Franc. “Nivéole” is the name of a flowering plant, called “spring snowflake” in English, that appears all over the vineyards and makes for a beautiful landscape. Niveole is an absolutely delicious dry rosé. The palate balances great acidity with soft and fruity notes. The color is a light pink with hints of peach. The nose is a gentle mix of strawberry with just a hint of grapefruit and lemon.
Enjoy Domaine du Vistre Niveole Rosé now and over the next 2-3 years as the perfect patio aperitif wine. It matches up beautifully with salade Nicoise, roast chicken, grilled shrimp and mild cheeses.
