Elouan Pinot Noir is a beautiful Oregon Pinot Noir. Elouan is the result of California winemakers venturing up to Oregon, one of the world’s renowned Pinot Noir regions. The goal: to produce Pinot Noir with depth of flavor, vibrancy and suppleness. For this wine we brought together fruit from three distinct terrains along Oregon’s premiere Western vineyards which harmonize beautifully when blended as one. The diversity of these districts along with a lengthy growing season create wines with intense structure, while maintaining a vibrant acidity that sets them apart from other wines.
The name Elouan means “good light”, which is reflective of the typically cool summers, yet abundant sunshine found in this northern hemisphere winegrowing region. The unique climate, diversity of soil types and the gentle sunlight influence on both canopy and fruit, form the foundation of this wine’s northern character. Elouan’s winemaking approach is designed to coax the optimal terroir qualities from Pinot Noir, truly exemplifying the prime coastal vineyards from where it is sourced. The wine was aged for ten months in a mix of new and seasoned French oak and racked upon completion of malolactic fermentation.
“A toasty and zesty quaff, with jammy raspberry and spice flavors that finish with zip. Best after 2027. 87,505 cases made.” — TF, Wine Spectator, 88 points!
Dark ruby red in color, this wine opens up with aromas of dark cherry, persimmon, dark chocolate, and sweet pipe tobacco. The palate is rich, robust, and well-balanced, with solid structure and intense flavors of bing cherry, cocoa, candied cranberry, and boysenberry. Superb depth and concentration complement rich tannins and lead into a smooth medium finish.
Enjoy Elouan Pinot Noir with salmon with arugula, feta, and quinoa, flank steak with chimichurri, or heavy ricotta and ravioli with a light red sauce.
