Franciscan Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is great value in Cali Cab. Named for the Franciscan Friars who brought viticulture to California, Franciscan was founded in 1972 by two Napa Valley wine legends, Justin Meyers and Raymond Duncan. Since the first vintage in 1973, Franciscan has paved new paths in California winemaking, including leading efforts to establish the Meritage Alliance, which gives a designation (Meritage = Merit and Heritage) to California wines made with the traditional Bordeaux blend of grapes.

Franciscan Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is a full-bodied wine grown in California. A deep ruby color shows in the glass with aromas of blackberry and toasted coconut. The mouthfeel is silken with layers of black cherry and dark raspberries with ribbons of caramel throughout. The wine was aged on American and French oak for 4-6 months. On the finish, notes of dark berry are accented with hints of mocha.
