Wine Advocate 89 points!
Frozza Prosecco di Valdobbiadene Col dell’Orso is a sparkling wine from the Valdobbiadene appellation in the Veneto region of Italy. It is made 100% from the grape varietal Prosecco which, by Italian law, may be still, crackling or fully sparkling. This ancient Roman varietal can produce wines that are sweet or dry. Frozza Prosecco is delightfully crisp and refreshing, with just a hint of enticing sweetness. Its official designation is Spumante Extra Dry. Frozza is a small grower in Valdobbiadene widely regarded by connoisseurs in the Veneto region as a self-styled, outstanding virtuoso in the art of artisanal Prosecco winemaking. Frozza estate vineyards stretch over 8 hectares of 25-to 50-year-old vines, all concentrated in historical sites such as Col dell’Orso and Federa. Antonio Galloni of Wine Advocate rated this wine 90 points, saying, “In short, this is an awesome Prosecco not to mention a stunning value.” We decided that’s worth mentioning!
Frozza Prosecco is a pale straw yellow in color with appealing aromas of white peaches, apples, almonds, mineral and floral notes. Crisp and bright, moderately dry with medium body, this sparkling wine is richly textured with bright flavors of apples, peaches, vanilla, and almonds. It is fruit-forward and well balanced, with a long, satisfying finish.
Enjoy Frozza Prosecco di Valdobbiadene with chicken salad, shellfish, filet of sole and light desserts. It also makes the perfect Bellini with peach liqueur!
