Geoffroy Champagne Rosé de Saignée 1er Cru Extra Brut is a beautiful rosé Champagne from an artisan winegrower. Jean-Baptiste Geoffroy, who has 14 hectares in the Vallée de la Marne, is the fifth generation in his family to grow grapes in the region. While his family has always made a little wine, they began to emphasize Champagne production in the bad years after World War II, when they were unable to sell their grapes to the big houses. In the 1970’s Mr. Geoffroy’s father decided to keep all the grapes and turn them into Champagne.
Geoffroy Champagne Rosé de Saignée 1er Cru Extra Brut is 100% Pinot Noir from Cumières 1er Cru vines. Fermented and aged in enameled stainless steel and aged 42 months on the lees. The dosage is 4g/L. Disgorged December 2025. Practicing biodynamic.
"A vividly hued rosé Champagne, fresh and balanced, with ruby coloring and an expressive range of blood orange sorbet, raspberry puree, lemon thyme, oyster shell and smoke notes set on the fine, creamy mousse."--Wine Spectator 93 points!
