Description

Piedmont, Italy Guidobono Barolo Le Coste di Monforte is a wonderful single-vineyard expression of the Nebbiolo grape from a great vintage in Piedmont. Dreaming of one day being able to produce Barolo, the Faccenda family purchased this winery in 2003. The vineyards lie just outside of Monforte, the vines are 30/40 years old, the soil of limestone composition. Guidobono's wines are textbook interpretations of the indigenous grapes of the Langhe. Fruit-driven, juicy, soft and rich the two Barbera, austere yet approachable the Nebbiolo, structured and traditional the Barolo. Guidobono Barolo Le Coste di Monforte is luminous brick in color with broad aromas of fruit and violets. Mineral notes and elegant tannins offer a progressive depth of sensations. Fermented in stainless steel and matured 24 months in large oak casks, this full-bodied red will reward several years of cellaring and drink best from 2021-2030. It is long, ripe and rich on the finish. Enjoy Guidobono Barolo Le Coste di Monforte with osso buco, lasagna, veal chops and aged cheeses.
