Description

Russian River Valley, California Wine Advocate 90 points! Hartford Family Winery was founded in 1994 as a result of Don and Jennifer Hartford’s appreciation for the wines, the people, and the unique vineyards near their Russian River Valley home. Located in the Sonoma County town of Forestville, the winery is about 15 miles from the cool Pacific Coast. “We love Pinot Noir and in many years make about 15 of them with fruit from the Russian River Valley, Sonoma Coast, Green Valley, Carneros, Anderson Valley, Marin and Oregon appellations. We feel that Pinot Noir makes the most seductive red wine, notable for its supple, silky texture. Pinot Noir is also known for expressing vineyard site characteristics in a transparent manner.”-Winery “The 2019 Pinot Noir Russian River Valley was aged for 10 months in French oak barrels, 27% new. It delivers vibrant notes of black cherries, kirsch and mulberries with suggestions of garrigue and forest floor. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is chock-full of ripe, juicy black and red berry flavors, supported by soft tannins, finishing with a lively red berry kick. 8,000 cases were made. Drink 2021-2026”—Lisa Perrotti-Brown, Wine Advocate, 90 points! Aromas of black cherry, blueberry, black currant, allspice, and loam are followed by flavors of wild raspberries, dark berries, and a crushed rock minerality. The dense entry is followed by a sweet and juicy mouthfeel, supported by acidity, silky tannins, and a subtle earthy finish. Enjoy Hartford Court Pinot Noir with roast pork, grilled salmon, and rich vegetarian dishes.
