Hermann Wiemer was born in Bernkastel, Germany into a family with a 300-year tradition of winemaking. In 1973 he selected a scenic property on the west shore of Seneca Lake in the beautiful Finger Lakes of New York, a place reminiscent of his native Mosel region. This is a crisp, dry Riesling made in the classic Mosel Kabinett style. Estate bottled and grown. Hermann J Wiemer Dry Riesling is soft yellow-green in color with a beautiful nose of pear, apricot, lime and herbs. Light-medium in body with a dry finish, the wine is beautifully balanced with lively acidity. It offers rich flavors of apricots, green apples, citrus and mint. It was fermented in stainless steel, with no oak. This wine is elegant and refreshing with a juicy, flavorful finish.
