Rheinhessen, Germany
Heyl Zu Herrnsheim Riesling is a beautiful dry Riesling from the Rheinhessen of Germany. The monk depicted on the label represents the monastic roots of Heyl zu Herrnsheim Estate, which can be traced back to the year 1561, when monks from Worms were searching for suitable locations for their vines. They found them in Nierstein, where they bought new vineyards of exceptional quality. The Estate was aquired by the Lauteren-family in the 18th century and eventually bought by the family Heyl zu Herrnsheim in 1909. Since 2006 the family Meyer continues this tradition with passion and expertise and runs Heyl zu Herrnsheim with winemaker Felix Peters.
Heyl Zu Herrnsheim Riesling is a complex Riesling with delicate crispness and great balance, grown on unique red clay soil over 280 million years old. Dry to off-dry, the wine offers aromas and flavors of apple, stone fruit, and mineral notes. The finish is long and refreshing.
Enjoy Heyl Zu Herrnsheim Riesling over the next 6-8 years with pan-fried trout, grilled shrimp, Asparagus, light summer salads, trout a la Meunière, seafood and as an aperitif on the terrace.
