Holden Manz Big G 2012

Franschhoek, South Africa Holden Manz wine estate is located above the Franschhoek valley overlooked by magnificent mountains which stand guard over the beautiful valley below. Situated between the Franschhoek & Stony Brook rivers, this 22 hectare wine estate, with its fertile and dark loam soils produces superb wines in a state-of-the-art cellar. Holden Manz Big G has an intense, concentrated, red color at the center, turning into a ruby, red edge. On the nose is a strong explosion of blackcurrant, mulberry, plums and chocolate flavors, backed by hints of vanilla and cigar box. Strong, black pepper and spice also present in the bouquet. Holden Manz Big G is full bodied with a firm, ripe tannin structure backed by well-balanced acidity. The mid palate is full of dark fruit with a long and lingering finish. Blend: 39% Merlot, 31% Cabernet Franc, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon Enjoy Holden Manz Big G over the next 8-10 years with slow-braised beef short ribs served with roasted parsnip puree enriched with butter, cream and a touch of nutmeg.
