Description
IGP Méditerranée, Rhone, France
Isle Saint Pierre Rosé is a delicious dry rosé from the southern Rhone packaged in a convenient 3L bag-in-box—the equivalent of four 750ml bottles. Founded in 1927, Domaine Isle Saint Pierre is located on a small island in the Rhône River. It is run today by fourth-generation vigneron Julien Henry. Because of the terroir and temperature, they are able to grow varietals that thrive in a Continental climate, such as Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Chardonnay and Sauvignon. In 2018, the estate received the Vignerons Développement Durable certification in recognition of their commitment to sustainable winegrowing.
This wine is a blend of 30% Cab Franc, 30% Merlot, 15% Vermentino, 5% Colombard, 5% Petit Verdot, 5% Arinarnoa, 5% Carmenere, 3%Tannat, and 2% Syrah. The vineyards are on 200 hectares of silt, sand, alluvial soils on an island by the mouth of the Rhone River. Farming is
sustainable, with no weed-killers and no synthetic fertilizers. The rosé harvest undergoes a short skin maceration with complete control of process timing, producing a rosé exclusively from free-run juice. It is beautifully crisp and flavorful with medium body and notes of red berries, bing cherries, citrus, spice and no oak. The finish is long and refreshing.
Enjoy Isle Saint Pierre Rosé now and over the next 2-3 years as the perfect patio aperitif wine. It matches up beautifully with salade Nicoise, roast chicken, grilled shrimp and mild cheeses.
