Jaboulet Condrieu Domaine des Grands Amandiers is one of the world's top expressions of Viognier. It is the creation of Paul Jaboulet Aine, among the most prestigious wineries of the northern Rhone Valley of France. "Pale gold. Intense aromas of white flowers, lemon zest, peach and minerals, with a spicy overtone. Dry, racy and precise on entry, then deeper in the mid-palate, offering sappy pit fruit and floral flavors and a touch of candied ginger. Finishes silky and long, with resonating floral and anise notes. I also had the chance to revisit the 2010 bottling of this wine, which is deep, chewy and impressively powerful, but with a surprising lightness of touch. It came from what Desnervois called "a naturally very low yield, even before any selection in the vines" and is a wine he expects to age slowly and positively."-Vinous 92 points!
