Johnson Family Chardonnay 2009

Sonoma Coast, California Johnson Family Chardonnay is a white wine gem from the Sonoma Coast region north of San Francisco. Johnson Family is a value-driven private label produced by a few great winemakers from selected vineyard sites in California. The wines over-deliver for their price because they are made utilizing the same exacting standards as much more expensive wine--low yields, minimal handling, sustainable farming, French oak aging and minimal fining or filtration. The proof is in the bottle as you will see when you taste this Chardonnay! This vintage was sourced 60% from Russian River Valley and 40% from the southeast corner of the Sonoma Coast AVA. Johnson Family Chardonnay is a beautiful straw-yellow in color with medium body. It is lush on the palate with ripe pear, citrus and melon flavors and a light toasty component. The wine was fermented 60% in stainless steel and 40% in barrels, then aged for 8 months in neutral oak barrels. A touch of minerality comes through on the mid-palate and a refreshing, crisp acidity leads to a mouth watering finish.
