The wines over-deliver for their price because they are made utilizing the same exacting standards as much more expensive wine--low yields, minimal handling, sustainable farming, French oak aging and minimal fining or filtration. Johnson Family Pinot Noir is 100% Pinot Noir, fermented in four small lots prior to blending, 35% in new French oak and 65% in neutral oak. Aged 13 months in barrel. Blended from 3 distinct regions within the Sonoma Coast appellation. Sonoma Carneros Pinot Noir offers bright red fruit, and West County grapes provide structure, acidity, and a gorgeous savory side, with a touch of fine tannin. Russian River Valley adds a darker fruit, with hints of cola, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
