La Crema Chardonnay Kelli Ann Vineyard is a beautiful single-vineyard wine from a Sonoma-based winery that has pioneered cool-climate artisan winemaking. La Crema has explored California’s finest coastal growing regions where cooling ocean wind and fog allow the grapes to ripen slowly on the vine, developing complex aromas and flavors. The winery’s quest has ranged north into the rugged hills of Mendocino and south along the wind-swept slopes of Los Carneros. One of La Crema’s most treasured estate vineyards, Kelli Ann, sits a stone’s throw away from the meandering and picturesque Russian River. Enjoying abundant sunshine, foggy mornings, and cool nights this vineyard yields wine with both dimension and concentration.

“The 2017 Chardonnay Kelli Ann Vineyard was barrel fermented and aged 15 months in 35% new French oak. It comes from vines off Eastside Road on the banks of the Russian River, planted in 1989. It opens to scents of yellow apple, salted almonds, crushed stone, lemon peel and meringue with a classy framing of sweet spice. The palate is light to medium-bodied and delicately intense, with appealing citrusy flavor layers and mouthwatering acidity, finishing long on a honeyed note. 1,500 cases produced.
