La Dama Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is a beautiful organic and biodynamic red wine gem made in the Veneto region in the northeast of Italy. La Dama was established in 2006 and is owned and operated by the husband-and-wife team Gabriele and Miriam Dalcanele. They cultivate sixteen hectares, ten of which are vineyards, divided into two bodies: one in Negrar and one in Sant’Ambrogio, in the wonderful Valpolicella Classica. The family’s grapes and wines are certified organic since 2015.
La Dama Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is a beautiful blend of 73% Corvina, 17% Rondinella, and 10% Corvinone. It is deep ruby in color, dense, and full-bodied. The complexity of the aromas begins with delicate floral notes of peonies and roses, evolving into maraschino cherries and dried red plums. Cloves, peat, and licorice emerge, imparting a balsamic and fresh character. Aged in French oak of 500-225l for 14 months and Italian oak vats of 1500l for 18 months, then in bottle for a minimum of 1 year. Velvety tannins and a long finish.
Enjoy La Dama Amarone della Valpolicella Classico over the next 12-15 years with osso buco, roast lamb, lasagna, and aged cheeses.
