Description

Colchagua Valley, Chile Wine Advocate 90 points! James Suckling 92 points! Lapostolle Le Rouge is a beautiful Carmenere blend from the Colchagua Valley in Chile. Lapostolle Wines was founded by Alexandra Marnier Lapostolle and her husband Cyril de Bournet in 1994. Alexandra is a member of the renowned family that has been dedicated for several generations to the production of high-quality spirits and wines. The winery's aim is as simple as it is ambitious: to create world class wines using the French experience and the magnificent terroirs of Chile. The company owns 370 hectares in three different vineyards (Casablanca, Cachapoal and Colchagua) and produces a total of 200,000 cases annually. The wines are distributed in more than 60 countries worldwide. "The red formerly known as Lapostolle is now the 2015 Le Rouge, a Bordeaux blend from the younger vines in Apalta produced in a lighter and fresher style, despite the warm year. It's a juicy blend of 29% Carmenère, 27% Merlot, 22% Syrah, 21% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Petit Verdot. Two-thirds of the wine matured in oak for some 13 months, and the rest was kept unoaked." Drink 2018-2021.-Luis Gutierrez, Wine Advocate, 90 points! Enjoy Lapostolle Le Rouge over the next 5-7 years with roast beef, steak, meat empanadas and aged cheeses.
