Description

Irpinia Aglianico DOC, Campania, Italy Petilia Aglianico Le Sepaie is a delightful red wine gem from the Irpinia Aglianico appellation of Campania in southern Italy. Petilia is a family-run winery settled by Teresa and Roberto Bruno in the mid 1980s, situated in Irpinia, the mountainous region in mainland Campania where two of the finest white wine appellations of Italy are grown - Fiano di Avellino DOC and Greco di Tufo DOCG - as well as the famous red wine Taurasi DOCG, made from Aglianico. They are committed to quality viticulture and minimally intrusive winemaking. Petilia Aglianico Le Sepaie is ruby red in color with full body and a sweet nose of berries, black cherries, leather, and spice. Soft and pleasing on the palate with integrated tannins, it offers abundant flavors of dark berries, black cherries, almonds and spice. Aged for 12 months in a combination of large oak casks and used French-oak barrriques, it is well balanced to enjoy now and over the next 5-6 years. The finish is long and complex. Enjoy Petilia Aglianico Le Sepaie with roast beef, BBQ ribs, steak, pasta with meat sauces and grilled vegetables.
