Pierpaolo Pecorari Chardonnay Sorjs 2022

Venezia Giulia, Italy

The winery of Pierpaolo Pecorari is a typical Friuli farm, located on the plateau of Micro Terrazzo in the Isonzo wine growing region. It is only 9 miles from the Adriatic sea and 15 miles south of the Julien Alps. The winery is run by Pierpaolo, his wife Alba, and their son Alessandro. Alessandro visited us for a tasting at Wine Gems in June 2025.

The Chardonnay 'Soris' is one of the Reserve wines of Pierpaolo Pecorari. It has a slightly yellow color with greenish copper reflections. The nose is dominated by aromas of ripe exotic fruit with hints of toast, vanilla and spices. On the palate it is full and rich with plenty of freshness and minerality. The finish is strong and lengthy. The maturation takes place in barriques, where the wine is kept about 11 months on its own yeasts.
