Description
Etna DOC, Sicily, Italy
Wine Spectator 90 points!
For five centuries and seventeen generations, the Planeta family has been involved in Sicilian agriculture. Their work on the island has contributed to the revitalization of Sicilian winemaking, now one of the most dynamic and sought-after viticultural regions in the world. The Carricante grapes from Etna always give us great satisfaction as the combination of black sand and altitude provide distinct aromas and three dimensional flavours. In this vintage we find notes of white acacia flowers, fresh almonds and mountain peaches, on the palate it is juicy and full of hints of yellow plums and prickly pear.
"This lithe, light-bodied white offers notes of pineapple and tangerine fruit, with hints of lemon curd and biscotti backed by crackling acidity. The minerally underpinning shows on the finish, with a clean-cut mix of saline and chalk. Drink now through 2026. 10,000 cases made, 1,000 cases imported." — AN, Wine Spectator, 90 points!
