Silver Medal Mundus Vini
The Poggio Le Volpi Estate was established in the 90s by Felice Mergè, a man of unusually keen insight. The young oenologist is Armando Mergè’s son, who is the third generation of the branch of a family whose progenitor is Mario Mergè. Mario Mergè began his work back in the 20s, concentrating mainly on viticulture and olive growing and marketing his products. Poggio Le Volpi has an image which is second to none for the quality and elegance of its wines.
Poggio Le Volpi Baccarossa is 100% Nero Buono, the signature red grape varietal of Lazio. This wine is deep and bright ruby red in color, very intense on the nose of black ripe fruit, cherries, Mediterranean wood, cocoa powder, cloves, minerals, and balsamic. Very smooth and elegant in the mouth, well balanced with ripe tannins, and a very long finish.
Enjoy Poggio Le Volpi Baccarossa over the next 6-8 years with stews, roasted lamb and medium aged cheeses or with Bucatini all’Amatriciana and Coda alla Vaccinara.
