Nepente di Oliena, Sardegna, Italy Tiscali Cannonau di Sardegna is a compelling biodynamic red from Fratelli Puddu on the island of Sardinia. At the foot of the Corrasi mountains, in the middle of Sardegna among olive trees, the Puddu brothers use their 30 hectares of vines to grow indigenous varietals like Cannonau (Grenache). There is proof that wine was made with this grape here by Franciscan friars in the 1500's, followed and improved by the Jesuits for centuries later. Vino Biologico. Tiscali Cannonau di Sardegna is intense ruby red in color with medium-full body and silky tannins. The nose offers red fruits, spice, leather, violets, and Mediterranean herbs joined by raspberry jam on the palate. The finish is long, smooth, and pleasing.
